It would be cool if when the server opens we get a small plot and we build houses. Then make it a download for every one and call it athion members map pack
That could be neat. Although, by my understanding of things (Keep in mind, I do not know much about what that could entail, but I do have some experience with "map building"...), this would be fairly hard, if not impossible, to implement.
That would be an awesome idea. I reckon it would be possible too, though why it would be done is another thing. Any particular reason we would make members builds available for download? It's a neat idea though, just wondering what your thoughts on it would be. And SwiftHawk, I think it would be a lot easier than you seem to believe. I can't see it being too difficult especially for the devs.
maybe open a new server just for this event then when its over just save and upload the world file and it can be organized by ranks
It just occurred to me; WorldEdit would be most definitely be used in this process, and that makes it a LOT more possible than I thought... XD
This could actually be done client-side. There are mods that allow you to make "schematics" of pretty much anything in your world. The biggest problem is getting everyone's permission to use all of the builds as a release for everyone. I like the concept but it seems like a lot of work for a lot of potential drama :P
Why someone wouldn't give you permission to use his plot/build? I mean c'mon what bad can happen? I make all of my builds in PMC free for use as they see fit (No need to credit me) :/
As long as it's made painfully clear that the builds would be going into a public map, Nobody could really complain about anything.
in all reality whats built on our server is free for the server to use as we please, but if we do things like this we would ask the user 1st anyway
